What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how ErgoAssessment, a project operated by CreateComfy LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and handles your personal information when you visit ergoassessment.cam, use its tools, or sign up for our emails.

The camera posture check runs in your browser, so we never receive your video, photos or results. The personal information we collect is limited to what you choose to give us, like your email address when you sign up for a reminder, and the basic technical data that comes with any website visit.

Plain English version: The posture analyzer runs on your device. Your camera, photos and results never reach us, and only your last result is saved in your own browser. If you sign up, we get your email to send the reminder you picked. Reminder-only emails are deleted some time after the reminder. We also get votes, calculator feedback and basic visit data. We never sell your data.

02

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Your email address, the reminder time you pick, and whether you want news on new tools and posts, when you sign up on the homepage
  • Your vote on whether a tool helped you is stored with a hashed (scrambled) version of your IP address to count one vote per visitor
  • Feedback you send us: the message you write in the ergonomic calculator’s feedback box, along with the inputs you entered so we can see the same result you did, or your email address and message if you email us

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, basic technical data may be collected automatically by our hosting provider and analytics tools. This may include:

  • Your IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)

This data is used in aggregate to understand how people find and use the site. It is not used to identify you personally.

The camera posture checker

The ergonomic posture scan runs in your browser. The camera only turns on after you allow it, and your video is processed on your device and never leaves it. The same goes for photos you use: they’re measured in your browser and never uploaded. We don’t receive or store your video, photos, the body measurements taken from them, or your results. If you save the result image, it goes straight to your device. If that ever changes, we’ll update this policy before it happens.

03

How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Posture check reminder: to send the confirmation and email reminder you asked for, at the time you picked
  • News, only if you tick the box: to send occasional emails about new ergonomic tools and posts. These may also mention related things, like a paid posture assessment if we launch one or our sister shop CreateComfy. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send
  • Votes and feedback: to record user appreciation, answer your emails, and fix issues
  • Site improvement: to understand how visitors use the site and where we can improve it
  • Legal compliance: to meet any applicable legal obligations
04

How we share your information

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: we use Brevo to manage our email list and send communications. Brevo processes your email address, reminder time and news preference on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy policy
  • Hosting and infrastructure: our site is hosted via SiteGround, which handles what’s sent through the site, like votes and notes, and may process basic technical data as part of normal server operation
  • Posture model downloads: when you start the posture assessment, your browser downloads the pose model from Google (storage.googleapis.com) and the code that runs it from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net). Like any download, these services receive standard request data such as your IP address. They never receive your camera, photos or results
  • Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
05

Cookies and tracking

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how people use the site and to improve their experience. These may include:

  • Analytics cookies to measure traffic and usage patterns
  • Functional cookies that help the site work correctly
  • Your browser’s local storage, which remembers choices like your vote on a tool, your posture check countdown and sound settings, and the angles from your last posture evaluation, so the next check can show what changed. It stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. You can clear it in your browser settings
  • Email open and click tracking in the emails we send through Brevo, which shows us whether our emails are useful

We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide you with the option to manage your preferences.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site function.

06

Data retention

If you signed up for news, we keep your email address, reminder time and news preference until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you only signed up for the reminder, we delete your email address some time after the reminder is sent. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it promptly.

Your last posture analysis result stays in your browser until you run a new check, which replaces it, or clear your browser data.

Automatically collected technical data (server logs, analytics) is typically retained for up to 12 months before being deleted or anonymised.

The hashed IP address stored with a vote expires after 30 days. Vote totals are kept as plain counts that aren’t linked to anyone.

We keep feedback notes, and the data sent with them, only as long as we need them to fix or improve our tools. Notes don’t include your name or email, so if you’d like one deleted, tell us roughly what it said and when you sent it.

07

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from our emails)
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and no later than required by applicable law.

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us directly to be removed from the list.

08

Children’s data

ErgoAssessment is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

If you believe a child has submitted their email address through our site, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

09

Third-party links

Our site may contain links to other websites, including CreateComfy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

Share links on our tools may contain your results if you select so. The link isn’t recorded on our server, but the service or person you shared it to can see them.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add new tools or features. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

If you are subscribed to our emails and a significant change affects how we handle your data, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect.
